Super Cool Photo #4

Hello again
Here is another shot from the same abandoned factory in Milwaukee. I Loved the long raking shadows.

Super Cool Photo #3

Hello all
For the first time ever it is I, Nate, posting this one. My previous job took me to Milwaukee for about three months out of every year photographing motorcycles. While most of this time was spent in a large warehouse temporally converted to photo studio shooting tiny chrome parts, we did get out every once in a while for location work. This image is from one of those times - shot in December, 2000. After 2 weeks of constant snow and ice the client decided that shooting motorcycles outside on location was going to be difficult so they found an abandoned factory to shoot in. Imagine that bad weather in Milwaukee in December. Between shots I had a chance to do a little exploring. I came across this huge orange wall that caught my eye. I loved what time had done to the paint.

This super cool, super blurry photo was taken on our honeymoon this past November in LA. Yes, we went to LA for our honeymoon - it's really fun! So, we went to see a taping of The Tonight Show, which was super cool and interesting. On our way back to the hotel, just outside of the studio, I looked over to my right and there was Jay Leno driving his car home! I grabbed for our point and shoot camera and quickly grabbed this shot before he drove away.

You may be thinking to yourself that this is not a great photograph and I totally agree. Those point and shoot cameras are tricky! I am too used to our big pro cameras to be able to successfully use one of these little guys! It's still an awesome memory even if it is incredibly blurry! Make fun of me if you want, but I have a photo of Jay Leno and you don't!!

Welcome to our first installment of "Super Cool Photo", a new blog entry dedicated to super cool photos we have taken in our personal time.

This image was taken by Nate. He used to live in Ventura, California in the worlds tiniest studio apartment. Every Saturday and Sunday morning he would head out to explore his neighborhood and photograph the seemingly mundane details of it. This is one such image. The simplicity and contrast of this image make it our very first "Super Cool Photo"!
